Inverse icicle

Yeoncheon inverse icicles are located in a deserted tunnel on the railroad track of Gyeongwon Line. The tunnel has been deserted since 1945 when the railroad track connected to North Korea was disconnected. The icicles were found by the local residents in 2005.

Hundreds of inverse icicle rise from the floor of the tunnel 100m long and 10m wide and are various in sizes. They start to grow from the middle of December and can be seen till March of the next year.
