The security exhibition hall, located north of the Civilian Control Line in Jung-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, has been reborn as the “Yeongang Gallery,” an exhibition space for culture and arts. Yeongang Gallery is the first art space built north of the Civilian Control Line since the armistice. It is a complex space where the ecosystem of Yeoncheon, which has been fully preserved due to the geopolitical conditions of the border area, meets contemporary culture and arts. Yeongang Gallery has made a new architectural attempt with the “Peace Gate,” that captures the large facade work that portrays a view of Yeoncheon and the messages of peace sent from all over the world.
The Yeongang Gallery consists of a media system that contains the works of the natural ecosystem and amateur photographers to establish a natural link to neighboring tourism courses as well as an art exhibition space, media experience that offers visitors the opportunity to virtually experience the ecosystem of Yeoncheon, local markets that sell agricultural products from the Yeoncheon region, and a cafeteria where the tourists can take a break.
