Hof, Bavaria, Germany
Purpose of Exchange
Similar to Yeoncheon-gun of which the north and south were divided by the Korean War, Hof in Germany had been previously divided into East and West Germany, leaving scars throughout the area. The Green Belt of Hof, like the DMZ in Yeoncheon, is now used as a cradle for historical education and a natural recreation area. Exchanges have been promoted to share the experience of Hof before and after unification and build solidarity between international cities for the unification of Korean Peninsula.
